Matthijs Verhage
Matthijs Verhage (CNCR, Amsterdam) is founder of the ESCO consortium. He started working on Munc18/STXBP1 in 1993 and has published almost 50 scientific studies on the topic, including the first mouse models, the first functional analyses of patient mutations and patient-derived neurons, and the first EEG-study. He is member of the scientific advisory board of the international STXBP1 foundation and several pharma/biotech companies operating in this space. He is also chair of the Dutch Brainmodel consortium (https://brainmodel.nl) that develops cell-based diagnostics for STXBP1-realted disorders.

Hilgo Bruining
Hilgo Bruining is a child psychiatrist and professor in neurodevelopmental disorders at the Amsterdam University Medical Center in the Netherlands. He leads the N=You neurodevelopmental precision center that focusses on stratification and personalization strategies in neurodevelopmental disorders. The cornerstone of the center computational techniques to quantifiy an excitation/inhibition (E/I) ratio from EEG signals and the implementation of (multiple) n-of-1 trials using patient report outcome measures and innovative clinical endpoints.

Mala Misra-Isrie
Mala Misra-Isrie is a clinical geneticist specialized in developmental and reproductive genetics. She works at the Amsterdam UMC in The Netherlands. Mala finished her PhD in 2016 at the KU Leuven. She worked on the discovery of novel genes for intellectual disability. Since 2018 she has been involved in STXBP1 research through the lab of Prof. Matthijs Verhage, besides her work as a genetic counselor in the outpatient clinic.
